The Potential of Peer Support in Recovery from Modern Slavery: A Rapid Review

This rapid review was conducted for Survivor Connections, an organisation led by survivors of modern slavery. The purpose of this research was to support Survivor Connections in developing an evidence-based framework for delivery of peer support by and to survivors of modern slavery in Australia.

Australia, like many countries, currently depends on critical minerals imported from countries with poor labour standards and wide-spread human rights abuses. In this submission to the Inquiry into The Future Made in Australia (Production Tax Credits and Other Measures) Bill 2024, we express our support for the Bill, as it would address the cost barriers that currently prevent mining and production of critical minerals in Australia, under Australian labour standards.

The ACCC has published draft guidance around Australian competition law and collaborations between companies on sustainability efforts. Survivor Perspectives on the Anti-Slavery Commissioner Bill

What matters most to survivors of modern slavery in the design of the Federal Anti-Slavery Commissioner role? This is an important question that this submission aims to answer from the perspective of lived experience. In January 2024, we interviewed six survivors of modern slavery in Australia, to understand their views on the Bill before the Committee. This submission is based on those interviews.
